"One of his best attributes is his ability to scramble and dance around in and outside of the pocket to create throwing lanes and big plays. However with reduced mobility into his 40's, that magic of his is clearing waning. On third downs in 2025, Rodgers possessed a sack rate of 10.7%, the 10th-highest in the entire league."

Bryce Young did manage to show flashes of his top-overall pedigree during high-leverage overtime moments, but his baseline volume data remains incredibly concerning for an offense trying to take the next structural leap forward. He simply isn't pushing the ball downfield with any real consistency.

McCarthy (in 2025) ranked dead last in the league in completion percentage (57.6%), touchdown-to-interception ratio (11-12), and passer rating (72.6). "

He thoroughly outplayed expectations over his final five starts, but the coaching staff knows he still has an immense amount of development ahead of him before he can be trusted over a full 17-game gauntlet.

"The New Orleans Saints lost seven of their first eight games in 2025 with Spencer Rattler at quarterback before pivoting to Tyler Shough. They won five of their final nine games. Shough also became the first rookie quarterback since 1950 with 300-plus passing yards, a passing touchdown and no turnovers. He really found his groove at the tail end of the season, but he still has much to learn."
