VERMONT SPORTS BETTING: BEST SPORTSBOOKS AND PROMO OFFERS

Sportsgrid-Staff

Sportsgrid-Staff

Vermont legalized sports betting in 2023, and the speed at which it came to fruition was rather surprising, given the lack of interest in bringing it to the state before that.

The first online sports betting sites launched in the state in January 2024. Per state law, there can be no less than two online at a time and no more than six.

Vermont online sports betting is still new, and there are bound to be many new players constantly. Sportsbooks also evolve constantly to become more appealing to prospective players.

I’ll discuss VT sports betting apps, banking methods, betting markets, and more.

List of Online Sports Betting Sites in VT

Before diving into a more thorough look at the top sports betting sites in Vermont, check our rankings below and claim our exclusive promos for these sites.

Top-Rated Vermont Sportsbook Sites

There are just three Vermont sports betting sites, and I’ll review each one. I’ll also cover the welcome bonuses, mobile app, and key features.

FanDuel Sportsbook VT

After utilizing the welcome bonus, you’ll also find promotions like parlay boosts, profit boosts, and odds boosts.

The features I enjoy checking out are Parlay Hub and the Betting 101 guide. The Betting 101 guide is the feature that makes FanDuel Sportsbook a top place for new players to start, as the content here for educating players about sports betting is the most in-depth, with text and video.

Parlay Hub makes parlays a bit easier, as you can sort by sport, total odds, and bet type. By making these selections, you’ll see what bets fit your parameters, and you can craft from there.

As for the mobile app, I can confidently say you’ll enjoy it as much as I do. When you open the app, you’ll find links to the daily fantasy sports platform at the top, followed by the search bar, a menu for sports, promos, live betting, and another menu for the available promotions.

The bottom of the app also has a menu to view the live betting markets and your bet history, view your account, and return to the homepage.

DraftKings Sportsbook VT

DraftKings, like FanDuel, is a brand that even casual sports fans may know from the early 2010s because of daily fantasy sports.

DraftKings tends to offer many short-term promotions that change almost daily. These include odds boosts, parlay insurance, parlay boosts, and other bet-and-get offers.

Regarding unique features, I’m not sure any other site matches the number DraftKings has. The standout one to me is DK Social. This is DraftKings version of a social media platform where you can build groups with friends and exchange betting ideas and also see what bets they place.

While it’s technically not a feature, my favorite part of playing at DraftKings is the player props. The depth of markets and players available in each game is unmatched.

You also can’t go wrong with this mobile app. Across the top is a menu to return to the homepage, build quick parlays, DK Social, betting pools, flash bets, and more.

Below this is a search bar, a list of promotions, the available sports betting markets, and more.

The menu across the bottom has links to the homepage, live betting, bet history, the sports betting markets, and promotions.

Fanatics Sportsbook VT

If the name Fanatics sounds familiar, that’s because you’ve likely heard of the online retailer. That’s right, they’ve entered the online sports betting market.

With that, a unique experience has come through with its rewards program, FanCash.

This program allows you to get back up to 10% on your wagers as currency, which can then be used for bonus bets or as site credit to make purchases at the online retailer. No other rewards program is like this.

The mobile app is really straightforward to use. It’s organized so that everything is easy to see.

From top to bottom, you’ll see the betting markets, the search bar, featured events, featured parlays, and bets you can make to get the full 10% back on FanCash.

Legality of Sports Betting in Vermont?

Sports betting is legal in Vermont and has been since Governor Phil Murphy signed it into law in June 2023. The first online sportsbooks went live in January 2024.

The bill signed into law was HB 127, which at the time was somewhat of a surprise as there was no legislation for sports betting in the state in 2022.

There’s no retail sports betting in the state.

How to use the mobile app to place a bet in Vermont

With mobile sports betting being the only way to wager in Vermont, I want to ensure you’re ready without any issues.

Below, I’ll go over how to get started step-by-step.

  1. Open the app store.
  2. Search for one of the three VT betting apps.
  3. Download the app.
  4. Create an account. During this process, you’ll need to provide personal information such as your name, date of birth, address, and more.
  5. Add funds to your account. After logging into your account, you can typically find a link to the deposit page in the upper right corner of the mobile app on the homepage.

After adding funds to your wallet, you can browse the markets, place bets on the betslip, and wait to see if you’ll win.

Some important things to note include allowing the sportsbook to access your location. This is required as you must be inside Vermont to wager here. Additionally, you may need to prove your identity by sending in a copy of your government-issued ID.

Available Betting Markets in VT

Every sports betting site in Vermont has numerous sports betting markets on which you can wager. These can change throughout the year, including more getting added.

Here’s what I found:

  • Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Hockey
  • Soccer
  • Aussie Rules
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Emmy Awards
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Motorsports
  • MMA
  • Rodeo
  • Rugby
  • Snooker
  • Tennis
  • Table Tennis
  • Track and Field
  • Water Polo
  • Volleyball

College sports betting is available, but you cannot wager on any team based in Vermont unless they’re in a tournament. For example, the University of Vermont plays in the NCAA Tournament.

While there are no professional franchises in Vermont, the University of Vermont has had some recent success in making it to the NCAA Tournament.

Banking and Payment Options available in Vermont

Across the sports betting sites in Vermont, you’ll find multiple ways to deposit and withdraw funds. Here’s a list of the options I found.

  • Online Banking
  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card
  • PayPal
  • Venmo
  • Apple Pay
  • Gift Cards
  • Play+ Card
  • Wire Transfer
  • Check
  • PayNearMe

Of course, like sports betting markets, these can vary from site to site.

I’ve found that at some sites, you may need to use specific options as deposits before utilizing them for withdrawals.

VA Mobile Sports Betting

In Vermont, sports betting is only possible with betting apps. The laws here only allow for so many, so the state will be picky in what sites it brings in, unlike other places.

With that, I suspect the quality of platforms will always be competent, but in case you ever want to check for yourself, the first thing to do is to see how quickly you can find the promotions, registration, deposit page, customer support, and betting markets. I’ve found that the best sites display all this without needing to scroll around.
