Did the Eagles Leave Super Bowls on the Table?
Howie Roseman built a talented Eagles roster that went 50-18 heading into this season. Given that success, the question is whether Philadelphia should have won three Super Bowls in a five-year window, as the Dallas Cowboys did in the 1990s.
Front-office meddling, frequent coordinator changes, constant roster turnover and Roseman’s involvement may have prevented the coaches from simply coaching the team. From that perspective, the Eagles may have left Super Bowls on the table.
However, winning multiple titles in a short period is extremely difficult. Dallas did it, as did Brady and Mahomes, but that level of sustained championship success is rare.
A fair criticism of Roseman is the lack of stability at head coach. The Eagles won a Super Bowl with Doug Pederson and another with Sirianni, only to fire them two years later. Roseman needs to hire a coach he likes enough to keep around and create stability within the organization.
It is difficult to believe the Eagles have reached this position after such a dramatic fall.
