Miami vs. Pitt Betting: Is a 20.5-Point Spread Risky?

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Miami’s 20.5-Point Spread Against Pittsburgh Sparks Concern

Miami laying 20.5 points against Pittsburgh was described as one of the most dangerous games on the board. Miami failed to cover three touchdowns against Wake Forest and also fell short of covering as an 18- or 19.5-point favorite against Florida State.

There was some uncertainty during the discussion about whether the Pittsburgh game was on the road or at Hard Rock Stadium, but the conclusion remained the same: laying 20 points with Miami was not appealing.

Another view was that Miami should not have much trouble with Pittsburgh, even if the spread was not worth betting. The greater danger could come next week at North Carolina, particularly with a potential look-ahead to the Notre Dame game. If Miami is laying 10 points at North Carolina, it could be “upset city.”

Still, Miami was not expected to have a problem against Florida State either, adding to the concern surrounding another large spread.
