Going into Week 9 of the 2025 season, there were five undefeated teams in the Power 4, with surprises No. 7 Georgia Tech and No. 11 BYU joining No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Indiana, and No. 3 Texas A&M, as the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC were all represented. In 2024, eight ranked undefeated teams entered Week 9, the same as in 2025, when the top six teams were unblemished after eight weeks.
NIL and player movement have brought parity to the top of college football, making it less likely any team can survive a 12-game regular season without a loss.
Last season, Ohio State and Indiana were both 12-0 in the regular season, setting up a classic Big Ten title matchup. We will have no such conference championship games this season with one undefeated team in the Big Ten, one in the ACC, and one in the Big 12.
See if we project any of the three remaining undefeated teams running the table in 2026.
