Gilberto Mora Emerges as a Breakout Star in Liga MX

Gilberto Mora has been on fire and could be playing his final season in Liga MX. The young star followed a phenomenal World Cup tournament with continued strong performances, proving that his unforgettable goal against Colombia was not a one-game moment.

Mora became the youngest player to wear the number 10 for Mexico’s senior national team, and he has shown that he deserves it. His goal against a very good Colombian team was the kind of performance that sparked comparisons to young Brazilian and Argentinian talents pursued by clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Liverpool is reportedly preparing an offer of $55 million, which would make Mora’s move the highest transfer in the history of Mexican football.

His rise also comes at the beginning of the Rafael Márquez era. Although the first set of results has been mixed, this is a new cycle marked by a generational change and a new group of players who have caught Márquez’s attention. Márquez knows how to get the best out of top stars and could be the ideal coach for Mora.
