Lamar Jackson Injury Update: Week 7 or 8 Ravens Return?

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From NFL Pro Football Today

Lamar Jackson Could Return in Week 7 or Week 8

Lamar Jackson did not practice this week as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. With the Ravens not scheduled for a bye until Week 13, the question is when he can realistically return to the field at full strength.

Despite coach Jesse Minter saying Jackson could have returned to the game in which he injured his ankle, he remained out for Weeks 5 and 6. There have been reports of optimism and progress, but Jackson is a finely tuned, high-performance player who needs to be healthy enough to run and pass effectively.

Next week represents his first chance to return, though it is not guaranteed. His practice participation will be important, and his chances of playing appear to be no better than 50-50.

The encouraging news is that the injury is not expected to be long term. Jackson was not placed on injured reserve and should return in Week 7 or Week 8 at the latest.
