Josh Allen Powers Buffalo Past the Rams in a 37-34 Overtime Thriller
The Buffalo Bills defeated the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in a back-and-forth game filled with great plays, coaching decisions, miscues and fumbles. The loss dropped the Rams to 2-3, leaving head coach Sean McVay frustrated despite his team’s resilience.
McVay said the loss hurt, but the Rams could not allow the Bills to beat them twice. Although he was proud of the effort, resilience and toughness his players displayed, he made it clear that little else about the result felt positive. His focus quickly shifted toward regrouping and determining how the team would move forward.
Matthew Stafford also praised the Rams’ fight. He noted that the offense scored plenty of second-half points and that the defense returned the ball to the offense in overtime. However, Buffalo forced the Rams to fight for every opportunity, and Los Angeles failed to finish the job. With a short week ahead, Stafford said the team had to move on and prepare to play again.
Puka Nacua echoed that message, saying the Rams needed to reset physically and mentally before facing the Arizona Cardinals at home. He described the next game as an opportunity for the team to respond, examine its identity and avoid letting the Buffalo loss affect another week.
For Buffalo, Josh Allen was once again the difference-maker. He finished with 121 yards on the ground and delivered when the Bills needed him most. The host described Allen as an electric, generational talent and compared him to a bigger version of Michael Vick.
Allen acknowledged that he struggled to find a rhythm early, passed up some underneath options and was working through mechanical issues. He felt more comfortable during the second half, when his teammates began making plays. Allen specifically praised Khalil’s first catch in overtime while admitting that Buffalo still needed to improve its passing game.
The host wondered whether Allen might be dealing with an arm issue after his first-half struggles and interception before halftime. Even so, Allen compensated with his rushing performance and helped Buffalo secure the victory.
Bills coach Joe Brady praised his team for finding a way to finish with one more point than the Rams. He highlighted Buffalo’s resilience in overtime, particularly after a fumble threatened to end the game. Greg responded with a blocked kick, and T Bass eventually delivered the game-winning field goal.
