Bears Rout Seahawks as Ben Johnson Shines in Prime Time

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Pushing The Odds with Matt Perrault

Bears Dismantle Seahawks as Ben Johnson Extends Prime-Time Success

The Bears took apart the Seahawks’ defense, especially during a dominant second half. I did not see that coming and bet under 46.5, but the Bears nearly covered that total themselves. It was the Seahawks’ biggest loss since last year.

Seattle has serious offensive problems to address. Despite facing a vulnerable Bears secondary, the Seahawks became completely one-dimensional. Jeffrey Simmons was outstanding in his first game, strengthening Chicago’s run defense and forcing Seattle away from its preferred approach.

Debro called that outcome perfectly. He explained why he took the Bears, what he expected Simmons to bring to the run defense, and how that could make the Seahawks one-dimensional. That is exactly how the game unfolded, and it was brutal for Seahawks fans to watch.

Ben Johnson’s prime-time record also deserves recognition. Across his time as Bears head coach and Lions offensive coordinator, he is now 19-4-1 against the spread. As head coach of the Bears, he is 8-1 against the spread, with another prime-time game coming this week.

The Bears continue to prepare exceptionally well when the lights are brightest. Right now, the combination of Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson has been profitable for bettors and exciting for Bears fans.
