Bears Dominate Seahawks on MNF: A Defensive Masterclass!

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From The Sporting Tribune Today
Bears Silence Seattle With a Dominant Defensive Performance
The Bears entered one of football’s loudest and toughest environments and controlled the game against the Seahawks. After not receiving the opening kickoff, Chicago put together a six- or seven-minute touchdown drive on its first possession, taking the energy out of the building.
Jeffrey Simmons made an immediate impact on the Bears’ defense, setting the tone by overpowering Sam Darnold for a sack on the opening drive. He finished with six tackles and three pressures, prompting Ben Johnson to describe his impact as profound.
Simmons’ presence also helped create opportunities for Montez Sweat, who consistently came off the line and pressured Darnold. Some of Sweat’s sacks were erased by penalties in the secondary, but his performance showed that Chicago can generate pressure with four defensive linemen.
Seattle’s offensive line appeared unsettled after acquiring Nelson and moving players around. The Bears took advantage, holding the Seahawks to 252 total yards, including 81 rushing yards, and limiting them to one conversion on 11 third-down attempts.
Chicago delivered that performance despite missing rookie corner Muhammad, who has emerged as one of the team’s best players at the position. With Kobe Bryant also expected back, Dennis Allen could have even more options in the secondary if the defensive front continues creating pressure without additional rushers.
The result ended Seattle’s streak of 30 consecutive games without losing by more than four points. The Seahawks have now lost three of four, while the Bears showed on a national stage that their dynamic offense is supported by a defense capable of dominating games.
Caleb Williams also strengthened his place in the MVP conversation. D’Andre Swift scored three touchdowns, but Williams remains central to Chicago’s rise. With the former number one pick meeting his potential under his head coach and the Bears continuing to win when he plays, Chicago has become a major NFL story and Williams could build momentum against Brock Purdy in the MVP race.
