One of my favorite players in the draft, Soctt is a tempo setter.

He plays like a defensive spark plug the kind of guy who changes momentum in a snap.

A true ball hawk, during his time at Miami, always around the football with sharp instincts, quick reactions, and the confidence to jump routes when he sees it.

What really separates him is how dangerous he is as a blitzer times it well, comes in fast, and doesn’t hesitate when he sees daylight.

Pick 33 - San Francisco 49ers via
Zion Young | EDGE | Missouri

This will be the first selection for the San Francisco 49ers after trading down twice in the opening round of the NFL Draft. While other teams forced picks late Thursday night, the 49ers stayed disciplined, sliding back and collecting assets instead of reaching for a name that didn’t match their board.

This is one guy who brings it every play. Wins with unorthodox body movements hard to explain, but that dip and sudden cut to avoid blockers feels second nature to him.

You can see it in his stance he’s amped up and ready to fire off the snap. He doesn’t sponge into blockers; his hands and arms are positioned to disengage quickly and get free.

We talk about running backs playing with forward lean he does that toward the ball carrier. In the trenches, his body is consistently positioned to work through contact and find his way to the tackle. Moves and plays with urgency.

Pick 34 - Arizona Cardinals
CJ Allen | LB | Georgia

Patience is top notch. Once you begin the process of breaking Allen down, his consistent approach to attacking the ball shows a premeditated pause before dialing in on the ball carrier. Power through the hips when he tackles. While not a devastating hitter, his efficient style ensures the tackle.

His eyes and angle to the ball are aligned. Football IQ helps him diagnose what he sees and he is reacting before the play fully develops. That split second to react is a key trait to his success at the position.

His consistency and football IQ appear to be a cut above. Add that to his physical traits and it is hard to diminish the idea that he can be a productive, high-level linebacker at the next level.

Pick 35 - Buffalo Bills via TEN
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren | Toledo | S

Buffalo was another team dropping down (three times in round 1) in the first round to stockpile picks.

Game Notes: Long all over. Attacks the ball. Fires downhill on it. Sideline-to-sideline speed. Reacts to where the ball is going and makes a point to get there as soon as possible. Looks loose hipped. Nothing sloppy in his movements. On one play he completely broke off a wide receiver lucky the quarterback was sacked or it was six points. Not sure how he will stack in man coverage.

Not a punisher in the run game, but flies to the ball and makes contact. You see a bit of great open-field tackling, then at times he nudges guys with a shoulder rather than following through on the ball carrier. He has a tendency in a good way to be in the right place at the right time. Time and time again the ball bounces in his favor.

What sold me on McNeil-Warren showed up in Week 2 against Western Kentucky. He is aligned roughly eight yards off the intended target, playing with vision and patience. He keys the quarterback, reads the shoulders, and trusts what he sees. Once the ball comes out, he triggers immediately, undercuts the route, and finishes with a clean interception he returns 33 yards for a touchdown.

That rep highlights high-level instincts, route recognition, and timing. He is comfortable playing off coverage, shows disciplined eyes, and transitions from read to attack without hesitation. Plays like that are why I am confident in his football IQ and playmaking upside at the next level.

Denzel Boston | WR | Washington

The Raiders new rookie quarterback will get his first gift from his new team.

Boston was considered a day one talent and his availability is a steal.

Size-speed combo with the ability to win downfield and in contested catches. Uses body well and tracks the ball naturally. Physical receiver who can stretch defenses.

Long-framed, big-bodied receiver who presents a natural catch radius and plays above the rim. Wins in contested situations with strong hands and body positioning, consistently shielding defenders at the point of attack. Tracks the ball well downfield and shows the ability to adjust mid-flight. Not a sudden separator but builds speed through his stride and can threaten vertically when given a runway. Uses his frame effectively on slants, fades, and back-shoulder throws. Functional route runner who understands spacing, though not overly dynamic at the top of his routes.

After the catch, he’s more of a build-up runner than a twitch-and-make-you-miss type. Will lower his shoulder and finish runs, embracing contact rather than avoiding it. Competes as a blocker and brings effort in the run game. Needs refinement in his release package and creating early separation against press, but he compensates with physicality and ball skills.

Overall, Boston could be the steal of the first round amongst the wideouts.

Kayden McDonald | DT | Ohio State

The recent trade of Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals leaves the Giants in the market for an interior space eater like McDonald.

Heart of the interior for a star-studded defensive unit at Ohio State. McDonald was the space eating front man allowing Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles to excel aided by both their incredible abilities.

Powerful interior presence with the ability to collapse the pocket. Plays with leverage and strength, eating space and forcing disruption inside. Not a polished pass rusher yet but brings physicality and push.

Guys his size doing what he is able to do are hard to come by and I feel this is why he sneaks up higher than most might.

One of the league's best defensive units in the National Football League, just got a little better with the selection of Miller.

You’ll see moments where he comes off the ball with a quick first step, gets into the backfield, and compresses the pocket. When that happens, you start to see the ceiling. But it’s not every snap yet. The pass rush is still developing more effort than plan at times, more push than finish.

That’s the projection piece.

Miller isn’t walking into the league as a stat-sheet guy. He’s walking in as a foundation piece. A rotational interior defender early who can grow into a steady presence on early downs and, if the pass rush comes along, something more.

Plays tough for his size. One of the players I watch who impresses me as much as he aggravates me. It is the lack of consistency I see, where he does something extremely well followed by something that disappoints.

He has toughness that resides in his game. Tackles the ball rather than the player, eyeing that opportunity for a turnover. I could envision a nickel-type defender. Loses space in routes, especially over the middle where he cushions his man. He plays to prevent yards after the catch rather than eliminating them.

Overall – Better use of hands upon contact and a more consistent atmosphere around his game would elevate him. Considering he is considered one of the top defensive backs in the country, obviously I am missing something in the evaluation process.

Fluid athlete who does the little things well, like plucking the ball off the turf without slowing down while others might fumble it around. Hood is controlled.

His demeanor in coverage is intense. He is able to stick with receivers and follow tightly in and out of their cuts. Even off the line of scrimmage he is able to duplicate the precision of the receiver. If the wideout is two steps, stop, turn, Hood is there to intervene.

His run-game prowess leaves something to be desired, as does the tackling. He flies to the ball, but he is more of a lunger than a wrap-up tackler.

Another player I felt was worthy on day one selection finds himself sliding to Houston with the 38th overall pick.

A plump midsection provides the offense with an immovable object. Fires off the snap with refined technique and poise.

Wins with leverage early. His hand is barely off the ground, and he is already squared up on the defender, ready to engage. Carries through with the ability to push defenders off the ball and drive them backward.

I would be shocked if he is not a Round 1 selection purely off upside and tape. His lateral quickness and awareness are always on. Favorite lineman in the draft.

Jermod McCoy | DB | Tennessee

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that he might need another surgery on a “bone plug used to repair a cartilage defect in his knee”, which hinders his immediate availability.

When healthy, one could argue he is the top defensive back in this draft class. The Saints are willing to wait and watch him emerge as possibly the best pick on day two of the NFL Draft.

Germie Bernard | WR | Alabama

The Dolphins had both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on their roster last season. Both are no longer in Miami and that leads the Phins grabbing Bernard in round two.

A big body target, Bernard is the kind of receiver coaches trust even if he’s not the one grabbing headlines. He’s sturdy, dependable, and understands how to get open without relying on pure speed.

Works the middle of the field with confidence, shows strong hands through contact, and consistently turns short catches into tough extra yards. He’s not going to run past defenses or dominate jump balls, but he competes, finds soft spots, and gives quarterbacks a reliable option when things break down. Bernard’s value is in his consistency he’s the guy who keeps drives alive.

Cashius Howell | EDGE | Texas A&M

The topic of historically short arms will be a discussion, but watching him, he has adapted organically to be effective with what God gave him. A lion is different, much different than a wolverine. Howell is a wolverine who wins with violence, leverage, and angles.

It is those tight spaces where Howell excels. He is able to hide his initial path to the quarterback. His hips say inside, but he is already moving outside. Possesses strength, and his 1.58 10-yard split tied Arvell Reese at the NFL Combine for the fastest time at the position.

Quick in tight spaces. He does not know his arms are short, he just wins. His combination of stutter step and change of direction is a signature part of his game. Plays with urgency.

Rodriguez is a high-motor, instinct-driven linebacker who plays faster than he times. He’s constantly around the football, reading keys quickly and triggering downhill with purpose. Not the biggest or most imposing physically, but he makes up for it with effort, angles, and toughness slipping blocks, scraping clean, and finishing plays.

He’s comfortable working in space, shows enough range to hold up against modern offenses, and brings a steady, no-nonsense presence to the middle of a defense. He may not wow you with traits, but he’s the type who quietly racks up production and keeps everything organized.

Gabe Jacas | EDGE | Illinois

Tampa Bay is stacking up on edge rushers and guys who can simply disrupt the flow of offense with their first two picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Day one they selected Rueben Bain Jr. and on day two of our mock draft they sign the draft card with the name Gabe Jacas on it.

Jacas is an energy-driven edge rusher who wins with effort, length, and a relentless motor. He fires off the ball with urgency, stays active with his hands, and keeps working through contact to collapse the pocket. He’s not overly refined yet as a pass rusher, but the flashes are there — especially when he converts speed to power and forces tackles to reset. Against the run, he sets a firm edge and competes every snap.

The type of defender who earns his role early through effort and grows into more as his technique catches up to his motor.

Bell is a big-bodied, physical receiver who wins with strength and ball skills more than pure speed. He’s comfortable working through contact, shows strong hands at the catch point, and can box out defenders in contested situations. Not a true separator downfield, but he understands positioning, finds space, and gives quarterbacks a reliable target when plays get tight. Bell’s game is built on toughness and consistency.

T.J. Parker | EDGE | Clemson

Matt Ryan the President of Football might fall to his knees when they know they are getting Parker wiht the 48th overall selection.

Good size and brings a thumping style to his game. Aware of his surroundings and quick off the snap. He wastes little motion getting from point A to point B, which allows him to play fast and stay efficient through the rep.

His feel for the smallest openings is one of the better aspects of his game. Those quick, twitchy reactions stand out—he sees it and goes without hesitation. Another positive is his power. Watch the LSU game in Week 1 of the 2025 season right tackle Weston Davis gets overwhelmed as Parker comes off the edge and drives him straight back.

Lee Hunter | DL | Texas Tech

The Vikings defense wasn't what it was in 2024 and took a step back in 2025. They're trying to regain that ground with the pick of Hunter. Their first two picks provide immense help in the trenches on defense.

A thick, powerful interior presence who brings a blue-collar edge to the defensive line.

He plays with natural strength and leverage, holding his ground against double teams and forcing runs to bounce outside. There’s a rugged, no-frills style to his game he’s not chasing stats, he’s controlling space and wearing down blockers. As a pass rusher, it’s more about push than polish right now, but he can compress the pocket when he stays low and drives through contact.

Hunter’s value comes from toughness, effort, and doing the kind of work that makes everyone else better.

Not the flashiest athlete, but he’s instinctive, tough, and the type who earns trust by consistently doing his job

He’s quick-footed, instinctive, and not afraid to stick his nose in against the run or challenge bigger receivers at the catch point.

Plays with an edge, talks it, backs it up, and brings that “you’re not comfortable today” mentality every time he lines up.

With their draft capital gone after trading for Micah Parsons on the eve of the 2025 NFL season, the Packers get to work in round two with help on the offensive line.

Bisontis is a power-built interior lineman who wins with strength, balance, and a wide, sturdy base. He’s at his best in tight quarters anchoring against bull rushers, absorbing contact, and resetting the line of scrimmage. In the run game, he plays with a heavy punch and can displace defenders when he gets his hands inside.

Not the most fluid mover in space, but he’s dependable, physical, and built for downhill football the kind of guard you trust to hold up when things get gritty.

Skyler Bell | WR | Connecticut

Impressive NFL Combine, running a 4.4 with a 1.53 ten-yard split along with a 41-inch vertical and 11’1” broad jump. He is a determined player on the field. Everything is fluid and in unison. Can make the difficult catch look routine and natural.

He is not twitchy or elusive in space. A lot of underneath routes with minimum yards after the catch. More straight-line speed than lateral threat. Puts effort into run blocking and that goes along with his demeanor of slight, but positive, aggression after the catch and in the run game.

Bell has enough athleticism to obviously make the occasional big play. He is adept at winning at the top of his route. His 17.2 yards per catch pops on tape.

A.J. Haulcy | S | LSU

The kind of Day 2 safety who earns his way onto the field quickly with toughness and consistency. He plays with urgency, takes clean angles, and shows a willingness to come downhill and hit not just clean up plays.

He’s instinctive in coverage, keeps things in front of him, and doesn’t get caught freelancing.

He may not be the flashiest athlete in the class, but he’s reliable, physical, and the type of defender coaches trust to stabilize the back end.

There are a lot of qualities to Brazzell II, if he can put it all together, he could become something special for the Chargers.

His combination of speed and size creates a mismatch waiting to happen for the defense.

Justin Herbert will applaud the pick when he knows he'll have a go-route star on in the line-up in 2026.

Kenyon Sadia 2.0 of the 2026 NFL Draft when eyeing up Stowers as a prospect.

A fluid, athletic tight end who moves more like a big receiver than a traditional in-line blocker. He’s comfortable working seams and soft spots in coverage, showing natural hands and the ability to turn upfield quickly after the catch.

Still developing as a blocker, but his value comes as a matchup piece a guy who can stress linebackers and give quarterbacks an easy outlet.

Mike Washington is a decisive, downhill runner who hits the hole with purpose and doesn’t waste steps. He runs with a low pad level, absorbs contact, and consistently falls forward to finish runs. Not a true home-run burner, but he shows enough burst to get through the second level and the toughness to handle a steady workload.

His game is built on reliability keep the chains moving, wear down defenses, and do the dirty work between the tackles.

The kind of edge you notice right away because he just plays fast and plays hard.

He’s constantly coming off the ball with urgency, forcing tackles to react instead of settle. When he times it right, he can get on an edge in a hurry and make quarterbacks uncomfortable without needing a perfect rush plan.

There’s still growth in his technique and counters, but you see the effort, the burst, and the willingness to compete every snap.

He feels like a player who’s only scratching the surface once it all clicks.

You can never have enough offensive lineman and Chicago adds Dunker.
Power-built tackle who plays with a nasty edge and looks to finish blocks. He’s at his best in the run game, where he can get his hands inside, drive defenders off the ball, and create movement at the point of attack.

In pass protection, he shows a solid base and willingness to battle, though his footwork can get tested against speed off the edge.

Dunker brings toughness, effort, and a physical mindset the kind of lineman who fits a downhill, tone-setting offense.

Broncos' defensive coordinator Vance Joseph gets a terrific prospect in Golday.

A player who keeps a defense on schedule. He processes quickly, keys the backfield well, and triggers downhill without hesitation. What stands out is his ability to stay clean through traffic, slipping blocks and working laterally to the ball rather than getting stuck in the wash. He’s not built on elite size or top-end speed, but his angles, effort, and consistency show up every snap.

In coverage, he’s comfortable in short zones, keeping things in front of him and communicating well, though he’s not a true matchup linebacker against dynamic athletes. As a run defender, he’s reliable squares up, wraps, and finishes without a lot of wasted motion.

Golday projects as a high-floor, rotational linebacker early with the makeup to grow into a dependable every-down piece, especially in a scheme
