With October football upon us, here is our prediction for how the 12-team College Football Playoff field stacks up heading into Week 6.
12. Boise State Broncos (4-1)
1st-Round Road Game (No. 12 Seed) – Highest Group of 6 / Pac-12 Leader

The Boise State Broncos lock down the final spot in our projected field as the highest-ranked Group of Six contender. Powered by quarterback Maddux Madsen and a relentless ground attack averaging 226.6 rushing yards per game (20th in FBS), Boise State puts up 34.4 points per game. Their explosive running game and big-game pedigree make the Broncos a threat to shock higher seeds.
11. Utah Utes (4-0)
1st-Round Road Game (No. 11 Seed)

Morgan Scalley’s Utah Utes crash the top 12 with an absolute wagon of a team. Utah features the #5 scoring defense in America, allowing a stingy 10.3 points per game and 258.5 total yards per game. Quarterback Will Hammond commands a balanced offense scoring 34.8 points per game, while an opportunistic defense yields just 16.2 points per game (26th in FBS). Texas Tech’s toughness in close fourth quarters makes them a dangerous road team in any postseason matchup.
