Should the Knicks Invite Tom Thibodeau to the Team Parade?

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From The Craig Carton Show

Discussing Tom Thibodeau's Potential Invitation to the Knicks' Parade

Craig Carton recently reflected on the possibility of the New York Knicks inviting their former coach, Tom Thibodeau, to the victory parade following their championship win. Despite the Knicks firing Thibodeau after leading the team to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 26 years—a decision that was unpopular among New Yorkers at the time—the team went on to win the championship.

Carton suggested that inviting Thibodeau would be a nice gesture, given the lack of personal conflict and the lingering affection between him and the players. However, he also shared his doubts about whether Thibodeau should attend, considering it would confront him with what he might perceive as his greatest failure: not winning a championship with a team that proved capable under his leadership. Carton compared this situation to Mark Jackson's with the Golden State Warriors, where despite Jackson's foundational work, he was not present at their victory parade, led by his successor Steve Kerr.

Ultimately, Craig Carton opined that while sending an invitation would be the right thing to do, Thibodeau—if holding any self-respect—should opt not to attend.
