Brewers Dominate as Dodgers’ Pitching and Veteran Hitters Fall Short
The Brewers delivered a dominant NLCS performance, consistently making clutch pitches when needed. The Dodgers reportedly hit about .110 with runners in scoring position and failed to capitalize on several opportunities, including multiple chances with a runner on third and one out.
Although the final scores may not fully reflect it, the series was described as a “butt kicking.” The Brewers did everything right and effectively manhandled the Dodgers.
The Dodgers’ extensive postseason workload since 2017 may have contributed to their struggles, but their starting pitching also let them down. Despite being expected to have the clear advantage in each game, the rotation finished with a 6.5 ERA.
Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow had fresh arms after missing time during the season because of injuries, but neither made a major impact. The Dodgers’ veteran hitters also looked old and tired, with Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Max Muncy disappearing during the series.
Shohei Ohtani also appeared to be hurt, with speculation that the Dodgers could soon announce that he underwent a surgical procedure.
