Tonight’s MLB and WNBA slates feature two intriguing matchups, including a battle between two of the hottest teams in the WNBA and a crucial AL West series.

The Lynx visit the Mystics with both teams finding their stride at the right time. Minnesota has won five straight to improve to a league-best 30-7, while Washington has won eight of its last 10 and can claim the season series after splitting the first two meetings.

In MLB, the Rangers begin a three-game set against the Angels sitting just one game behind the Astros for first place in the AL West. Los Angeles helped tighten that race by taking two of three in Houston and erupting for a season-high 18 runs in Thursday’s finale, while Reid Detmers and MacKenzie Gore will square off tonight.

For all of your MLB and WNBA betting picks, here are today’s TST Best Bets, brought to you by BetOnline.ag. Click here to join. All new players receive a 50% welcome bonus and up to $250 in free bets.

First Pick: Minnesota Lynx vs. Washington Mystics UNDER 166

Rundown: The first two games between these teams produced just 163 and 154 combined points, and their recent form points toward another matchup played in that same range.

Minnesota is coming off a 77-66 win over Golden State, marking the third consecutive Lynx game to finish under the total. Washington had an identical three-game under streak before combining for 175 points with Toronto on Wednesday.

The number is lower than it was for the first two meetings, but 166.5 still gives us some breathing room. With Washington likely needing to slow down the league’s best team to have a chance, this matchup should settle into another defensive battle.

Second Pick: Texas Rangers -1.5 (+160) over Los Angeles Angels

Rundown: Rather than laying the price on the Texas moneyline, I’m taking a chance on the Rangers winning comfortably. Nine of their last 11 victories have come by multiple runs, including each of their last two wins behind MacKenzie Gore.

Texas has won six of Gore’s last seven starts and has been far more dependable at home, where it owns a 34-28 record. With the Rangers only one game out of first place in the AL West, this is the type of matchup they need to take advantage of.

Los Angeles has won seven of the first 10 meetings, but that head-to-head success is difficult to trust alongside its 22-41 road record. The Angels have also lost seven of Reid Detmers’ last eight starts, with his eight shutout innings last time out accounting for their only victory during that stretch.

Eleven of the Angels’ last 14 losses have come by more than one run. If Texas gets the result it needs tonight, recent trends suggest it will also cover the -1.5.
