My mission this week has been to exclusively test the new sweepstakes casino Zonko. I think this site has huge potential with its fishing arcade games from KA Gaming and gritty NoLimit City slot collection.
For more info though, you can check out my Zonko review below where I not only look at the games, but I assess other important features like its legitimacy, customer support, and usability. I’ll also give my recommendations and explain whether or not I think this social casino has the potential to be a top contender.
To kick off my Zonko Sweepstakes Casino review, I had to check whether the site was legit or not. I’m 100% confident it is – it has all the things I expect social casinos to have such as a virtual currency system, transparency for its operations, and compliance with US sweepstakes regulations.
This site does everything needed to legally operate as a sweepstakes casino in the US. Firstly, it does not allow USD deposits or gameplay. You can only ever play games using your Gold Coins (GC) or Sweeps Coins (SC), and you cannot have a USD account balance. Secondly, no purchase is necessary to play here, as there are a range of GC and SC promotions that you can potentially get. In terms of availability, you cannot sign up here if you are from Washington, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, Montana, Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, or California.
Next I looked at the security features and whether the site is transparent about its operations. It has a full set of sweepstakes rules which explain how Sweeps Coins work, plus there’s other essential documents like a privacy policy and terms of use. These are all things I expect so that customers know their rights when signing up here. On top of that, the site has SSL encryption, and you have to go through various verification steps to be able to use the full site features.
I thought the customer support was lacking and this is one of the main areas for improvement. Currently, there is email and FAQ support. Click on the help icon from the left-hand menu and it opens the FAQ page. This has a limited list of questions relating to how the site works and what you can do with your virtual currencies. Email support is the only option if you want to speak to a human rep though, and I was only able to find the email address by digging through the terms of use page. I sent a handful of test emails and typically got a reply within 3-4 hours.

If you’re asking the question, is Zonko a real money casino then the answer is no. This site used Gold Coin and Sweeps Coin virtual currencies only. Gold Coin packages are purchasable starting from $10.00, and when I purchased a few test packages, I was able to use basic payment methods like Online Banking, Visa, and MasterCard. Additionally, your Sweeps Coins can potentially be redeemed for cash prizes. To make a redemption request, you need to have played with your bonus SC 1x, have a 100 SC balance, and have fully verified your ID.

After I had confirmed this sweepstakes casino is legit, I spent a long time testing the game library and seeing what entertainment value customers can get. Although it’s not a complete collection yet, you’ve already got great foundations including hundreds of slots from top developers, and an exciting fish arcade game section.
I always check to see who provides the games at a sweepstakes casino, and in the case of Zonko, it works with the following developers:
Playson and Relax Gaming are two of my top slot producers of all time, and I’ve played loads of fishing arcade games from KA Gaming previously. I was pleased to see these reputable developers, and I’m confident in the quality of the game library.
In terms of variety, at the moment you have loads of different types of slot games, plus fishing arcade games. I didn’t find any live dealer games, single player table games, or arcade games which is something I want them to look at expanding in the future. Still though, there’s plenty of fun slot mechanics including Hold and Win games from Playson.
NoLimit City is sometimes a slot developer I’ve overlooked, and I’ve no idea why – their slots rock. They have a distinct gritty graphical style that I really like, and many of their games feature animated characters and have immersive storylines. Some of my top picks I played at Zonko Sweepstakes Casino include:
Usability is important to me – I want a stress-free gaming experience and I’m happy that Zonko provides this. It has a great desktop site, and has also made a highly usable mobile version.
The desktop website is just straightforward with no fuss. It’s not an overly complex or flashy design and I love this because the emphasis is on usability. You can easily navigate the game menu by browsing the sub categories from the main library page, and they also have dedicated game pages for each of the developers. I never had any issues with page speeds either, and from a technical perspective the site has been well built.
You won’t be able to download a Zonko app yet, but perhaps they will add one in the future. Instead, I played here on my Samsung Galaxy using Google Chrome. The mobile browser version of the site works just as well as the desktop site, and I actually preferred playing the games on my mobile as opposed to my PC. The navigation is just as easy to use, the mobile page speeds are quick, and I was easily able to manage my account and make GC purchases.
To comply with the no purchase necessary requirement for sweepstakes casinos, Zonko offers a variety of bonuses and promos for new and existing customers. You can read more about these via my full Zonko promo code review, but I’ve given you an introduction here.
When I first logged in to my Zonko account, I was given 3,000 Gold Coins, but no free Sweeps Coins. Typically, I expect at least 7,500 GC and 2 SC for a signup bonus, so this was disappointing. However, what changed my mind was the brilliant array of optional discounted Gold Coin packages you can purchase:
These are all excellent value, especially the $20.00 package and I snapped that one up immediately. I really like that you get additional GC and SC afterwards, plus the spins on the welcome wheel.
Once I was established on the site and I’d got used to how it works, I looked for other promotions it had for existing customers, and found the following features:
I’m pretty picky when it comes to sweepstakes casinos, so the fact that I intend to continue playing at Zonko shows the potential it has. I’m not biased though, and it does have room for improvement – the customer support needs expanding, and I want to see some live dealer and arcade games added. However, after completing this Zonko review, I was really pleased with what I saw, and I think that if you sign up here today using the banners or links we’ve got on this page, you’ll be able to have loads of fun. I recommend checking out the NoLimit City slots, and the fishing arcade games from KA Gaming.
Not that I found. Instead, if you want to play on your mobile then you can click the banners we’ve got here and open the site in your mobile browser which works just as good as the desktop website.
It’s NOT available in these states – Washington, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, Montana, Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, or California. Also, you have to be over 18 or 21 depending on where you live, and this site is ONLY available in the US.
No. You can only ever play the games using your Gold Coin or Sweeps Coin virtual currencies. You then have the chance of getting GC or SC prizes in return. USD gameplay or deposits are strictly NOT allowed.
Yup! I’ve played at this site since it was launched and I’m happy that it follows US sweepstakes regulations and does everything that’s required of it to legally operate here.
